Yahoo Antispy is detecting Limewire as Adware . Should i still use Limewire ?

To the best of my knowledge Limewire does not contain any adware or spyware. Download Spybot Search %26 Destroy and Lavasoft Ad-aware. Run a full scan with both and see if they detect anything. If they do uninstall the version of Limewire that you have and install the latest version. Many P2P program do contain adware and effectively open a connection to your PC.

As most anti-spyware programs work from a database of known threats, yahoo anti-spy should be using known information, although all these types of programs can make mistakes.

Maybe the version of Limewire that you have has some security issues. Use the information as a possible threat and carry out more tests before removing Limewire.

It will detect it and it will ask you if you want to eliminate it. DONT select it and it will remain there. I made that mistake the first time and it deleted all my files from limewire.

That Ad is ordered by goverment to spy what are you downloading and later to kill that "illegaly" downloaded file,

u don't need to uninstall LimeWire, just get rid of the Ad with ZoneAlarm or XoftSpy...
