I highly recommend you download SUPERantispyware. It is VERY VERY effective and it is free.
hi, spyware/adware is a disgusting and infamous virus. perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.
I've never been infected by spyware or adware, and have had one email virus in about 10 years of internet use - there are a few simple reasons for this.
1. I use Linux.
2. I don't go to porn sites.
3. I don't use peer-to-peer services.
4. I don't go to crack/hack sites.
So in my opinion the key to computer security is ''be sensible''. If you go to lots of ''suspicious places'' on the internet, then you're going to infect your computer. Stay away, and your PC will be fine.

Register, go to the Hijack This Forum, read the instructions on how to post a log, give a brief description of your problem (like you've just typed) and post your log there. i download the tools to get rid of them but when scaned the file cant be found?all viruses are in c/documents
try many antivirus softwares. one cant be sure of saying which one is the best. try to download freewares from websites so that you can try them. go to download.com to look for any antiviruses. try ''avgfree'' antivirus

I use the holy trinity of AVG antivirus, Ad Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy. As long as you keep them up to date, they will keep your hard drive pristine.
I think your virus scanner (AVG?) is referring to documents that it cannot scan because it dioesn't have permission or cannot access them directly because they are in use - these are most probably temporary system files and nothing to worry about.
For spyware and adware use spyware doctor heard thats the best so far. For viruses and security protection get norton antivirus and firewall, but i believe you can get free spyware and adware removers and virus, hackers etc. One i no is avgas antivrius and spyware and adware its quiet good but not as good, but it does the trick.

Download spysweeper and install it with the most up-to-date definitions. Then restart computer and while it is booting up, press F8 until you see a menu. choose ''safe mode'' and press enter. under spysweeper's options-%26gt;sweep options, make sure you have everything checked under ''what to sweep?'' and then have it scan your computer for anything malicious.

I have seen a post said one should not only has a anti-virus program, a anti-spyware should be also necessary. I dont know is it true, for anti-virus software, i will pick one between AntiVir and AVG, then now for anti-spyware, what is your opinion on the two i mentioned in the title? I hope there is any data to support such as any website have tested them or also could be your personal experience. Thank you!
They do two different things, and you need both. Spyware like Ad-Aware and SpyBot, get non-virus things that can cause a lot of problems. Antivirus, like Avast or AVG, get the viruses that can cause your computer to stop running completely or even cause you to have to reformat the hard drive if it gets infected. So, there is no vs, or versus. Run both but not two antivirus.
I have both SpyBot and Ad-Aware, and Avast for antivirus, and have used all three for three years. I run Ad-Aware every day, as I'm on the internet a lot.
i use both ...i also have spybot..its good to use both Ad-Aware and spybot ...highly recommended
From personal experience I'd use AVG or Avast! - both efficient and both available free to download. Only thing is, DON'T have two or more a/v's running, they'll fight each other!
For spyware, yes, Ad-Aware SE is great, you could also have Spybot Search %26 Destroy. You can run more than one anti-spyware prog if you wish.
I've used/still use all of these with no problem.
You HAVE got a firewall, haven't you? If not, try Zone Alarm.

yahoo spy scan,windows defender,mrt and pest patrol,spybot,spydoctor(mcafee on comcast toolbar) only mcafee picks up estalive but it estalive doesn't appear in other spy ware scans ?maybe it's comcast's problem?
Estalive is a Chinese adware program that displays advertisements on your PC. Also known as AskYaya.
I download it into my PC and Spybot detected it, so maybe your spybot is not Up to date, or you gave permission without noticing for this to run on your PC.
Different spyware product will pick up different things, it depends on how good they are, if they are free or not and how often they are updated.
You should remove Estalive from your PC.
