Why does my computer say adware infection but Nortans scan says its okay?

Norton anti-virus only scans for viruses. Programs such as Ad Aware look only for adware. If you have Norton Security Suite, they may scan for adware, but they might miss some that another program might pick up. Finally, your Norton must be updated daily to stay on top of viruses, adware and malware.

because this add ware is stored on you hard drive where the a v soft cant find it, the best thing to do is run a system restore, this will put the system, back to it,s original configuration, before this add ware was loaded on to your system.

I have Norton and it is not good nowadays. As soon as your subscription expires, get others or download free ones, like Grisoft or Avast. As u have adware,Download spybot search and destroy and adaware. Then clean it up with www.ewido.com's free online scan and removal.

because norton is antivirus and antivirus can't recognize spyware/adware entries. that's why you need antivirus+antispyware to fully protect your computer. norton leaves adware alone cos it's not virus, other antivirus programs do the same.
